David Busch

After graduating from the University of Alberta with a JD in Law in 2005, David articled here in Edmonton at a national law firm (now part of an international law firm).  Shortly after completing his articles, he and his wife relocated to Vancouver where David worked as a litigator for British Columbia’s largest provincial law firm.  Eventually he and his family found themselves in Victoria, were amongst other firms David worked at Western Canada’s oldest law firm and later founded his own insurance defence firm. 

Prior to starting his legal career, a love of knowledge led David to obtain a BSc. in Biochemistry and he is a published biochemist.  He obtained a second BSc. in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care, and Pediatric Cardiology.  He has taught for multiple universities the fields of Nursing (clinical nursing), and Law (civil procedures).

A skilled communicator, David has represented clients big and small in front of all levels of court both here in Alberta and in British Columbia, as well as appearing before numerous boards and tribunals.  He has advised provincial governments on draft legislation, and corporations large and small on how to prevent litigation as well as litigation strategies.  David has also presented on numerous topics as diverse as race relations, bioethics and health care.  A litigator at heart, David takes pride in understanding not just his client’s current needs and but also considering their future needs when drafting a strategy to address their concerns as efficiently as possible be it through mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
