Clayton Schafers

Clayton is a knowledgeable financial accountant with over 10 years of senior-level public practice and industry experience. During his time at the University of Alberta School of Business, Clayton was active with the U of A Accounting Club, the Commerce Energy, and Environment Group, and attended the Rocky Mountain Business Seminar (RMBS). Since completing post-secondary, he has gone on to work for a local municipality, public accounting firms, one of North America’s largest crane and transportation companies, and now spends his time as Financial Controller for Alberta Counsel. He continues to be involved in the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and hopes to one day complete his MBA. Clayton’s background interests in agriculture are a great fit with our municipal clients and he continues to be a voice for younger people in the industry. In 2016, Clayton was selected as a representative of Western Canada to receive the Next Generation Scholarship from the Royal Agricultural Society of The Commonwealth (RASC) where he attended the conference in Singapore and hopes to take part in the 2022 conference in Cape Town, South Africa. Clayton has been an active volunteer through school and his local community, including serving on the Board of Directors for local not-for-profits, being a facilitator/judge for 4-H Alberta, and most recently, the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship as part of the local committee with Hockey Canada.
