Benazeer Panhwer
Benazeer Panhwer is a Juris Doctor (with Distinction) graduate from the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. During her legal studies, Benazeer was recognized with several academic honours, including the Felesky Flynn LLP Prize in Corporate Tax, the Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP Prize in Contract Law, and the Audrey Wakeling Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
A dedicated leader and advocate for equity in the legal profession, Benazeer served as President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – University of Saskatchewan Chapter, where she emphasized diversity and inclusion on campus and actively advocated for increased opportunities for minority groups in the legal field. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing, supporting first-year law students in developing foundational skills.
Benazeer is passionate about public service and community engagement. She led an immigration law clinic assisting permanent residents through the Canadian citizenship process and has delivered legal education sessions in inner-city high schools to support access to justice and post-secondary opportunities.
After completing her articles with Alberta Counsel, Benazeer will be heading to Ottawa to complete a Judicial Clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada for the 2026–2027 term.
Before entering law school, Benazeer earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction in Business Economics and Law from the University of Alberta.
Her academic background, leadership roles, and community-driven legal work reflect her deep commitment to excellence, accessibility, and thoughtful advocacy.
