Alberta Counsel

Agriculture & Politics 2019 - Harvesting the Potential

Alberta Counsel is inviting producers, elected officials, researchers, academics and other stakeholders for a day of dialogue about agriculture in Alberta. As a sector that holds incredible opportunities for economic diversification and at the same time tremendous challenges related to trade, climate, public investment, and changing consumer demands (to name just a few), agriculture in Alberta is at a crossroads. What approaches should - or shouldn’t - Alberta take to minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities in the dynamic world of agriculture?

While agriculture is essential to Alberta and its economy, it is heavily impacted by political decisions. As a result, Alberta Counsel will hold its first annual Agriculture & Politics conference this February in Drumheller.

Informative panel discussions will be held over the course of the day including speakers from industry, associations, and both provincial and federal politicians.

Panels will include topics such as the Future of Agriculture in Alberta, Alternative Farming, and Agricultural Trade: Challenges and Opportunities. In addition, there will be a keynote speech you won’t want to miss, and a networking lunch.

Please join us for this unique opportunity to learn more about agriculture in Alberta, and to meet with farmers, industry professionals, and elected officials.
